Born in 1947 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Charles Sherman studied art at the University of California, Los Angeles and has had various mentors as an artist/student. He has traveled and visited museums of America and Europe, studying the lives and techniques of twentieth century and old masters. Charles has intensively studied the art, religion, mythologies and sacred texts of ancient cultures. This is apparent in his work. He is currently interested in developing personal inner growth and the creative process. Charles’ work has received awards and appeared in juried shows and in public collections too numerous to name, highlights include: San Diego Museum of Art, Golda Meir Center of International Leadership Studies, University of Denver, and numerous shows and exhibitions throughout California and beyond.
