Painting and selling her work from Studio 34 in Spanish Village Art Center, Balboa Park, Monique has fulfilled one of her lifelong dreams. As a native San Diegan, Monique recalls spending many pleasurable hours drawing and painting, never realizing that she would eventually make this her full-time career. Monique’s unique and practiced style results from a combination of formal art training in illustration and painting, and a great deal of experimentation over time. Ten years ago, after an introduction to soft pastel, Monique began developing her current methods. The result is the unique and contemporary style that she is known for.

A versatile artist with a passion for design and color, Monique has been the recipient of a number of “Best in Show” awards in Illustration and Fine Arts, and her work has been juried into many exhibitions. She is a member of the San Diego Museum of the Living Artist, Spanish Village Art Center and the Pastel Society of San Diego. Her original and commissioned works in soft pastel and oil are in collections and institutions throughout the country.
