Full artist profile

Chris Honeysett began taking photographs at the age of three and hasn't stopped since. What began as a curiosity with a plastic box camera has turned into a career and primary passion in life. "I feel excited to be alive when I'm making an image. It's as if life is at a crescendo at that very moment, and I am privileged to share in it. After making an image, I bow to the subject in thanks." In 1987, he began using a large format camera that completely changed the way he took photographs. The slow, cumbersome equipment allows for a more meditative approach. Using the broad landscape as a starting point slowly minimized his angle of view over the years.

Chris has shown his work at nationally recognized art festivals and won dozens of awards. He co-owned Two Visions Gallery from 2000 to 2006. Chris' photographs have appeared in many publications, including Black and White Magazine and View Camera. He lives with his wife and son in the Bay area.
