Ashley Matte www.ashleymatte.com |
 |
When she was twelve, Ashley Matte locked herself in her bedroom and taught herself to play the guitar. While her smooth bluesy sounds are deeply influenced by her favorites, Sarah McLachlan, Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, and John Mayer, Ashley has developed her own uniqueness for performing and a talent for songwriting. Nashville tradition, coffeehouse intimacy, and emotionally mature pop sounds are all trademarks of Ashley Matte. Anyone who loves melodic guitar riffs and a passionate voice will be instantly pleased. Since finishing her album "Colors" which has been sold in stores nation-wide, Ashley has shared the stage with national acts such as The Fray, Gavin Degraw, Chris Isaak, Dishwalla, Dave Matthews Band and Linda Perry. She has also shared her music with many charities to help fund community programs needed throughout southern California. Ashley just recently released her second studio record, “No Number No Address.”

Bill Cardinal www.myspace.com/billcardinal |
 |
Bill Cardinal has been writing and performing in San Diego since 2006 with an outlaw country style and DIY method. Influenced by figures such as Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, and Townes Van Zandt; Cardinal shuns the Nashville pop sound and pulls off both the comedy and tragedy of old country music with a modern tinge. In February 2009 he played his first show with The Canyon Band behind him, and released a six-song EP entitled “65 More Miles” on 10” vinyl in May. With a growing fan base Bill Cardinal and The Canyon Band are hell bent on continuing the classic country tradition.

Bviolin www.bviolin.com |
 |
For Bahman Sarram, aka Bviolin, the uneasy years of his childhood in Iran were marked by chapters of triumph and tribulation. Those memories continue to affect him profoundly and have influenced his signature sound -- a unique mix of world and fusion instrumental compositions with hints of gypsy and Middle Eastern, as well as lyrical songs influenced by traditional folk. A classically trained violinist, Bahman displays a remarkable mastery of the instrument in every note of his passionate performances. Bahman has gathered the perfect musicians to help tell his unique story; they call themselves the January Avalanche Project. The group often tours in California and throughout the country.

It's tight and professional…Beeks's voice is a mixture of Bonnie Raitt and Jewel…Some of the songs lean toward acoustic and folky; others use more electric guitar and pedal steel to drive home a rockin' country sound.”

Chuck Schiele and the Tender Moments www.myspace.com/chuckschiele |

We were just minding our own business trying to be tender. Artist/producer Chuck Schiele has been the catalyst in numerous groups, most notably The Grams (2 time SD Music Awards Winner); along with numerous civic/arts related efforts. Backed by a power house of San Diego topguns they produce a sound that is best defined as acoustic rock. Michael Head (lead guitar) is an accomplished music producer, with a reputation as one of the most ferocious guitar players in San Diego. Tony Sandoval (bass) brings diversity to the 'thump" of the band's sound, having played in musical projects ranging from indie pop and jazz to trip-hop and rock (including the Grams). Don Wiseman (drums) is the irreverent beat-maker, drawing from polka to hip hop. His cool green jacket is proof that he actually played the Playboy Mansion.
